Melissa is a Registered Psychologist, Clinical Psychology Registrar and member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), APS Clinical College, and the Australian Association of Family Therapists (AAFT).
Melissa has experience working with children, adolescents and adults with a range of mental health and personal issues such as relationship problems, traumatic life experiences, difficult life transitions, mood and anxiety issues, domestic violence, substance misuse, sleep problems, developmental disorders (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder), and learning and attention problems (e.g., Intellectual Disability, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). She primarily works from a family therapy and systemic perspective, integrating evidence-based treatments and working with the client’s wider system to optimise outcomes (e.g., family members, schools, health professionals, child protection). She has additional training and experience in cognitive behavioural therapy, cognitive processing therapy, and motivational interviewing. Melissa can conduct psychometric assessments of children, adolescents and adults in the context of learning difficulties, and social, emotional and behavioural issues.
Melissa teaches Bower College’s Graduate Diploma in Family Therapy and Systemic Practice. She is available to present workshops and lectures to organisations and educators based on a systemic approach to human problems.
Melissa’s clients are eligible to claim Medicare rebates when referred under a Mental Health Care Plan by a GP. Melissa also accepts clients referred under the NDIS and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
