Melissa is a Registered Psychologist, Clinical Psychology Registrar and member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), APS Clinical College, and the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy.
Melissa has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a range of mental health issues, in both public and private mental health contexts. She enjoys working collaboratively and compassionately with couples and families from a systemic perspective, integrating evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioural and Family Therapy, and working with the client’s wider system (e.g., family members, schools, GPs) to optimise outcomes. She has additional training and experience in Cognitive Processing Therapy (for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and Motivational Interviewing.
Melissa sees children, adolescents, couples and families experiencing a range of personal and emotional challenges such as anxiety and stress, depression, self-harm and suicidality, relationship problems, domestic violence, substance misuse, traumatic life experiences, sleep problems, developmental disorders (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder), learning and attention problems (e.g., Intellectual Disability, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), and difficult life transitions. She can conduct psychometric assessments of children, adolescents, and adults in the context of learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and behavioural issues.
Melissa’s clients are eligible to claim Medicare rebates when referred under a Mental Health Care Plan by a GP. Melissa also accepts clients referred under the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
